Whipped Tallow Moisteriser w/ cacao
Ultra-moisterising face, hand and body butter.
Crafted from hand-rendered grass-fed NZ tallow (carefully 5x water extracted) nourishing organic jojoba oil, and organic cacao butter. Tallow, being an animal based fat is similar in structure to out own skin oils, making it a preferred structure of fat for our skin to absorb, resulting in deeply nourished, moisturised and juicy skin.
Usage Instructions: Using a clean finger or a spoon, take a small amount of the tallow butter and gently apply it to your warmed face in the morning (let absorb fully before applying makeup) or more generously in the evening. Wait 10 minutes before applying make-up.
A lovely way to integrate this into your self-care ritual is by liberally massaging it onto your body once or twice weekly for a nourishing and softening skin treatment, or smaller amounts daily. To deeply nourish hands, apply liberally and cover with cotton gloves overnight.
To use it as a makeup remover, gently warm a small quantity between your fingertips and massage it over closed eyes, face, or lips. Remove it using a cotton ball slightly dampened with warm water.
While applying the tallow butter on warm, damp skin (preferably post-bath or shower) enhances absorption, take care to prevent any water from entering the jar.
Storage: Store in a cool environment or, if possible, in the refrigerator. Please use within 6 months of opening for optimal freshness.
Care Guide: Fluctuating temperatures might cause the product to melt and subsequently solidify, resulting in a grainy texture. This does not affect the quality of the moisturiser. If you prefer, you can gently melt it (using low heat or sunlight) then cool again for use as a balm. Alternatively, allow it to slightly soften and then whip with a clean whisk or fork to restore the whipped texture. May be quite hard during the winter months, just gently warm up in between your fingers and apply as usual.
Ingredients: New Zealand grass-fed tallow, Jojoba Oil, organic cacao butter, natural vitamin E.
100% natural ingredients. Essential oil and artificial fragrance free.
When introducing a new skincare regimen, it's recommended to conduct a patch test at least 24 hours before complete application. Additionally, be aware that some individuals may initially perceive tallow as greasy. To acclimate your skin, consider using a slightly smaller amount during the initial days of usage.

Tallow Benefits for Skincare:
Deep Hydration: Tallow's lipid content creates a dense and occlusive layer on the skin's surface, preventing water loss and enhancing the skin's ability to hold onto moisture, resulting in long-lasting hydration.
Barrier Repair: The fatty acids in tallow can aid in repairing a compromised skin barrier. By fortifying the barrier, tallow helps to prevent irritants from penetrating the skin, maintaining its health and moisture balance.
Soothing and Calming: Tallow contains anti-inflammatory properties that can help calm and soothe irritated or inflamed skin, making it particularly beneficial for sensitive or reactive skin types.
Non-Comedogenic:
Holistic Approach: Tallow aligns with holistic skincare practices as it often doesn't require the addition of preservatives. Its naturally high content of saturated fats acts as a natural preservative, reducing the need for synthetic additives that can disrupt the skin's balance and contribute to a more natural skincare experience.
Eco-Holistic Resource Use: Tallow, embodying a nose-to-tail philosophy in sustainable industries, offers an eco-friendly skincare alternative that honours the entire animal by making use of the fat which often usually gets discarded.
Skin benefits of Cacao Butter
Cacao butter, derived from cocoa beans, is rich in beneficial fatty acids and antioxidants, making it an excellent natural ingredient for skincare. Here are some of its skin benefits:
Moisturizing: Cacao butter is highly emollient, meaning it helps lock in moisture by forming a protective barrier over the skin, making it ideal for dry or dehydrated skin.
Rich in Antioxidants: It contains antioxidants such as polyphenols and vitamin E, which help fight free radicals, reduce signs of aging, and protect the skin from environmental damage.
Promotes Skin Elasticity: The fatty acids in cacao butter, like stearic and oleic acid, help improve skin elasticity and suppleness, which can reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.
Soothes Irritated Skin: Cacao butter has anti-inflammatory properties, making it useful for soothing skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, and psoriasis. It can help calm redness, irritation, and itching.
Supports Skin Healing: Due to its nourishing and hydrating properties, cacao butter can help with wound healing and may reduce the appearance of scars and stretch marks over time.
Improves Skin Tone and Texture: Regular use of cacao butter can improve skin tone by promoting an even complexion and reducing the appearance of blemishes and discoloration.
Natural Protection Against UV Damage: While cacao butter has a very low SPF, its antioxidant properties can provide some protection against UV damage, complementing other sun protection methods.
Benefits of Jojoba oil
Jojoba oil is a versatile and popular oil in skincare due to its composition, which closely resembles the natural sebum produced by our skin. Here are the skin benefits of jojoba oil:
Moisturizing: Jojoba oil is an excellent moisturizer for all skin types. It forms a protective barrier that helps retain moisture, without clogging pores. It's lightweight and absorbs easily, making it ideal for both dry and oily skin.
Balances Oil Production: Because jojoba oil mimics the skin’s natural sebum, it can help balance oil production. This makes it particularly beneficial for people with oily or acne-prone skin, as it may reduce overproduction of oil by signaling to the skin that it has enough moisture.
Antibacterial and Anti-inflammatory: Jojoba oil has natural antibacterial properties, which can help reduce the appearance of acne and prevent bacterial infections. Its anti-inflammatory properties make it useful for soothing irritated or inflamed skin, including conditions like eczema and psoriasis.
Rich in Antioxidants: It contains vitamin E and other antioxidants that help fight free radical damage, protecting the skin from environmental stressors such as pollution and UV rays, which can contribute to aging.
Promotes Skin Healing: Jojoba oil is known for its wound-healing properties. It can help repair skin damage, promote faster healing of minor cuts, burns, or scrapes, and may also reduce the appearance of scars over time.
Non-comedogenic: Jojoba oil does not clog pores, making it an excellent option for acne-prone or sensitive skin. It provides hydration without causing breakouts.
Improves Skin Texture: Regular use of jojoba oil can help soften skin and improve its texture, leaving it feeling smooth and supple. It can also help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Protects Against Environmental Damage: The protective layer formed by jojoba oil can help guard the skin against harsh weather conditions and pollution, helping maintain the skin’s natural barrier function.
